Buddha Blue Healing Hand with Auspicious Symbols
12" x 10" Mounted on Foam Board
For Buddhists, the hamsa hand represents the chakras, the five senses and their associated mudras , hand gestures, that re-direct energy flow throughout the body. It is a sign that symbolizes protection and is meant to bring its owner happiness, luck, good health, and good fortune.
Buddhist symbols are painted here such as the lotus, the swastika , as a symbol of the law of Buddha and the state of well being and the triratna , the three jewels: Buddha, Dharma and Sangha and the eight auspicious symbols in the Tibetan tradition.
There are signs of use of this piece before it was mounted on foam board.
Handpainted by monks in Nepal.
