Moroccan Tribal Pots

These tribal pots are so unusual. They are clay pots with a top hinged with leather & fabric: almost a little gummy. The pots are covered with a gummy or slightly sticky leather that may be camel, cow, or goat. They are decorated with beads, cowrie shells, and nuts. Cowrie shells are known as the most successful and the best form of currency in various regions of the world. According to African legends, the cowrie shells are representing the goddess of protection that is highly powerful and is connected with the strength and power of the Ocean.
