Moroccan Tribal Water/Milk Bottles

Such a unique water bottle!  Here are two Moroccan tribal water bottles that are quite old. I wouldn't suggest using them for drinking water...they are now purely objects of art. The bottles are covered with a gummy or slightly sticky leather that may be camel, cow, or goat.  They are embellished with moon shells, cowrie shells, tagua nut slices, seeds & beads.  Cowrie shells are known as the most successful and the best form of currency in various regions of the world. According to African legends, the cowrie shells are representing the goddess of protection which is highly powerful and is connected with the strength and power of the Ocean. The handles are braided leather.  A rare find & a treasure of an artifact.

The first three photos are of Water Bottle One, and the last two photos are of Water Bottle 2
