Phangphxn is Burmese Lacquerware
11' HIgh x 8" Diameter. Please refer to the Burmese Lacquerware description on the last page. This piece is a lidded storage jar with an elephant knob. There is a small chip on the lid. It is set up to hang but the string can be removed. Hsun-ok (pronounced "Su knock") are lacquered wood and coiled bamboo vessels that were used in Burmese culture to present offerings to Buddhist temples and decorate shrines.Probably 19th century.
