Sacred is a Sakyamuni Buddha in Bronze with a gold patina done in the Lost Wax Technique allowing for the fine details. Sakyamuni, meaning the Lion of the Sakya Clan, was the son of King Suddhodana & Queen Mayadevi. He was born in 563 BC in Lumbini, Western Nepal. He obtained Bodhi after 6 years of fasting & meditation...then he was called Buddha, the Enlightened One. He died at the age of 80 at Kusinagara. He is always in the Hand Touching Earth pose. There is a lion on his pedestal representing his clan and the three-headed elephant symbolizes the 3 major Gods in Buddhist/Hindu Mythology: Brahma, the Creator, Vishnu, the Keeper, Mahesh, the Destroyer
